Bank of Finland Museum

by Robert Wood – Sociologist
A Central bank museum without much gold is also worth visiting. The monetary information in this well designed museum are small nuggets well worth digging for

The Bank of Finland Museum are around the corner from the stairs to The White Church in Helsinki. Do not hesitate to take a few steps from The House of God to The House of Money and Power.

The permanent exhibition is constructed around three themes. The main focus is on the operation of the Bank of Finland and the European System of Central Banks and monetary policy. The history section presents the history of cash in Finland and around the world as well as monetary policy developments as part of Finnish society. In the banknotes section, the emphasis is on developments in banknote art and banknote graphics since the early 19th century. Bank of Finland Museum Wood's Blogspot
