Robert Wood - A FatCoin review
Perth Minth has started the yearly stampede by releasing gold and silver coins depicting sow and piglets. The Year of the Pig-investment coins are indeed a fat deal.
FatCoin, collectors of one-kilo coins or bigger - are really in for a treat this year. The Year of the Pig is coming up in 2019, and Perth Mint wants to sell as much bacon as possible by putting the gold and silver coins on the market many months before the Chinese New Year comes around.
The Year of the Pig-one kilo silver coin feels somehow heavier in my hand than one kilo extra lard around my hips. But since FatCoin collectors are happier than one gram coin collectors, I’ll go for the porker. You can see all the fatty details without using a magnifying glass. And, not to forget,32 pieces of Year of the Pig-one ounce coin will be one kilo of the tasty ”piglets”. However, the price for these 32 coins will be higher that buying a kilo-coin with the same motive.
But be realistic – it is more practical to have pork-chops in the fridge than a swine in the freezer. Even if pigs can be smart and hardworking truffle sniffers most people prefer the one- ounce coins even if they don’t make them half as happy as FatCoin lovers. ;-)
